For over 40 years, ADAKC has supported Kern County families facing Alzheimer’s and dementia. As a nonprofit founded in 1982, it remains the only local provider of a full-time Adult Day Program focused on memory care.
Clients receive personalized, respectful care through daily brain-stimulating activities in a safe, social, and enriching environment.
But their work goes beyond the clients—they’re here for the caregivers, too. Caring for a loved one with dementia is a 24/7 responsibility, and ADAKC walks alongside families every step of the way.
ADAKC offers free weekly support groups for caregivers at the Rose Lazzerini Campus, open to all—no enrollment required. These groups provide connection and guidance through the challenges of dementia care.
As services aren’t covered by insurance, ADAKC depends on donations, grants, and community support to stay accessible to every family in need.

The Need Is Growing
More than 12,000 people in Kern County live with dementia, and many remain undiagnosed. With rates expected to double by 2060, the demand for local, compassionate care is growing fast.
Your Support Stays Local
Every dollar given to ADAKC stays in Kern County—supporting client care, helping families in crisis, and creating meaningful moments for those facing memory loss.
